“ Tyler was a student in my senior animation production course at Columbia College Chicago in 2011. He  translated the concept and script for the team project, “Haven”, into finished storyboards and worked closely with the story editor for subsequent improvements. Tyler was the art lead on traditional animation; supervising his classmates on the hand-keyed illustration and final art direction for several sequences. Throughout the 30 week’s of both semesters, he consistently met deadlines, collaborated with his classmates, and created well-drawn and expressive animation. The final film is being submitted to student festivals around the country.”

“Tyler also worked on his own animated short; “Pearls”. It is a great example of one student writing, art directing, animating and editing a solo project in an entertaining, successful way. Throughout the process, he was open to suggestions from colleagues and instructors and incorporated them into the final film. The film won the “best of the fest” award at Columbia ’s 15th Annual Big Screen Student Film Festival last April: the first animated film to do so.”

“I strongly recommend Tyler for any creative project in the animation field. He brings a creative attitude, strong ability and easy-going collaborative style to the creative process.”

-Jim Rohn: Associate Professor, Film & Video Department, Columbia College Chicago

” Tyler Harris is a good guy. I’ve hired him many times for freelance digital ink & paint and compositing work for my ongoing animation project, and will continue to do so. Tyler has no qualms with extending himself into unfamiliar territory, and welcomes the opportunity to learn new things. He’s surprisingly fast at using his creative mind to quickly come up with simple solutions to complicated problems.”
